Why is The Catcher in the Rye so popular?

hey! yeah i know what you mean.Many clics baffl me as well. I mean, i think that the reason why they became so popular, is becasue at "that time", no one had written that sort of story, so they were different. That dosen't mean that those of us NOW, are going to be all that excited about it. And most times that is the case. As far as Catcher in the Rye goes, well i sort of liked it. The story was really random, and didn't have much of a point, which appeals to me at times. What i liked most about it is the voice that the wrtier gave to the main character, it was funny. But as far as what makes the book a clic, well not sure. But he is a good writer in my opinion. Maybe you should keep more of an open mind, though i know that can be hard when you have to read a book for work, but yeah, that all.
