Any tricks of getting an apparently stuck bayonet fitted lightbulb out of a ceiling lamp?

i tried pushing it up and anticlockwise but it wont seem to turn either way. any tricks? i know i can get them out of other fittings in my home it just appears to be this one. last time i tried to force it the gl came away and metal stayed in. HELP please :)
