Going to a nightclub alone?

21 year old guy who is trying to become more social. Long story short I had a severe gambling problem for the past 3.5 years and it took up all of my time. I just quit and want to enjoy life. I don't have any friends besides a few bookies I know so should I go to a nightclub alone or would it look wierd. I am pretty attractive but kind of shy...good idea to break out or no?
